The MSAD#49 School Board has decided to hold the MSAD#49 District Budget Meeting on May 27, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lawrence Junior High School gymnasium, and then the School Budget Validation Referendum on June 3, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Community Center.
At the MSAD#49 District Budget Meeting on May 27, 2008, voters will have the chance to approve or amend the budget amounts for 11 cost centers.
Then, at the June 3 School Budget Validation Referendum, the voters will vote on the following question: "Do you favor approving the MSAD#49 budget for the upcoming school year that was adopted at the latest District Budget meeting?"
If you would like to vote on the school budget itself to approve or amend the amounts, you must attend the District Budget Meeting on May 27, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lawrence Junior High School gymnasium. There will be no absentee ballots for this meeting.
Absentee ballots will be available for the School Budget Validation Referendum on May 28. Since this is less than a week before the election, the Town Clerk suggests voting absentee in-person at the Town Office, as there may not be enough time to vote by mail.
