Government
The Town of Fairfield is incorporated and governed by the Town Charter, the Town Council, as well as numerous appointed boards, committees, and officials. The Town of Fairfield operates a Council-Manager form of government whereby the Town Council acts as a Board of Directors and the Town Manager acts as the Chief Executive Officer. The legislative body of the Municipal Government is the Annual Town Meeting, at which any registered voter of the Town of Fairfield may participate and vote on articles in the warrant.

Annual Town Meeting
The Annual Town Meeting is held the second Monday of May, at which time the Annual Town Warrant is voted on by registered voters of Fairfield to authorize the collection of taxes, appropriation of funds in the Town Budget, and other items pertinent to the operation of government.
