The Municipal Clerk oversees the following in accordance with Town Charter and State Statute:
- Administers & supervises elections for the Town
- Administers Absentee Voting
- Serves as Registrar of Voters
- Custodian for official Town records & ordinances
- Prepares Annual Town Reports
- Tracks all Board & Committee memberships, facilitates annual appointment oath process
- Issues Licenses and Permits for certain businesses and activities
- Administers Business Certificates
- Administers the municipal bidding process
- Prepares & maintains Town Council Agendas & Minutes and Public Hearing Notices
- Provides administrative support to the Town Manager & Town Council
- Records & maintains Vital Statistics Records (Births, Deaths & Marriages)
- Issues Marriage Licenses; by appointment (click here for more info)
- Notary Public; simple docs, Fairfield residents free, click here for parameters & restrictions
- Serves as Welfare Director / General Assistance Administrator for the Town by appt
- Website and Social Media Administrator
