Once the liquor license application has been completed, it must be submitted to the Town Clerk. The application should be submitted at least 45 days prior to the license expiration date so that there is ample time to schedule a public hearing.
Public hearings are held only once per month, usually on the second Wednesday. Please plan accordingly. Once the public hearing is held, the Town Council will vote on whether to approve or deny the application for a liquor license.
If the business requesting the liquor license has held a liquor license for at least five (5) years consecutively, and has had no complaints issued to the Police Department, a public hearing may be waived. Please check with the Town Clerk for more information about a waiver, or download a waiver by clicking here.
The only fee for a liquor license is the cost of the public hearing notice, which varies. The fee will be determined after the public hearing notice has been published in the newspaper.
